Review of Export Progress for Corn, Ethanol, and Distillers Grains (May 11, 2015)
The focus in the corn market has mostly turned to 2015 production prospects and implications for the magnitude of stocks at the end of the 2015-16 marketing year. Still, the pace of old crop consumption will determine the magnitude of carryover stocks into the new marketing year. In addition, the magnitude of consumption of corn, ethanol, and distillersí grains sheds some light on the strength of demand heading into that new year. Here, we review the recent pace of exports for those three commodities.

USDA Corn and Soybean Acreage Estimates and Yield Forecasts: Dispelling Myths and Misunderstandings (March 23, 2011)
The U.S. is the world’s largest producer and exporter of corn and soybeans. As a result, the size of the crops in the U.S. has a substantial impact on the price of corn and soybeans. The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the primary provider of public information relative to potential crop size. These reports are among the biggest market movers year-in and year-out.

Evaluation of Selected USDA WAOB and NASS Forecasts and Estimates in Corn and Soybeans (January 2014)
A number of agencies in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) are involved in collecting, analyzing, forecasting, and disseminating information about the production and consumption of the corn and soybean crops.This summarizes the results of a research report¬ ¬ that evaluates USDA forecasts and estimates for corn and soybeans. This is the first of a series of farmdoc daily posts that will discuss the findings in the report. The research was funded by the Office of the Chief Economist of the USDA.

Report 2009-03: Advisory Service Marketing Profiles for Hard Red Winter Wheat over 1995-2004 (December 2009)
This report presents marketing profiles and loan deficiency payment/marketing loan gain profiles for the advisory services followed by the AgMAS Project for the 1995 through 2004 hard red winter wheat crops.





Illinois Regional Basis Decision Tool
This tool presents historical corn and soybean basis for seven regions in Illinois.  Basis and cash prices are reported weekly for the 1975 crop year to the present.

Illinois Average Farm Price Received Database
This database presents average farm price received data for multiple commodities in Illinois.  Prices are reported both monthly and annually for the 1960 marketing and calendar years to the present.

   

US Average Farm Price Received Database
This database presents average farm price received data for multiple commodities, in the US.  Prices received are reported both monthly and annually for the 1960 marketing and calendar years to the present.

Agricultural Supply and Demand Database
This tool presents, in both tabular and graphical form, the values for a number of important supply, demand, and price variables for US and world crops and livestock.  The variables are reported annually for the 1975 marketing year to the present.
